I know this is very non-specific, but it is something i had always planned to do before my surprise (!) pregnancy... said preg is now a 4.5 year old dd. its just the two of us, and i'm in quite an odd career phase (ie - freelance) and i was thinking that while it is like this, we should have some adventures and learn something about the world and generally take advantage of our situation before (assuming this does actually happen oneday) i meet someone and have more children and our world resembles other peoples'.
anyway - i was thinking if we went to teach in a school in an underprivileged country she would get loads out of it too. somewhere very stable obviously.
she is at school, but i think it would be amazing for her (a) and (b) she is way ahead (if you want to think of 4 years olds and attainment like that, not sure i do) and i've taught it all to her anyway, and think i could keep that going.
does anyone think this is morally wrong? has anyone else done it? does anyone have any good ideas of where to start? (i could support us while we were away, but i note the schemes where one has to pay to volunteer are brutally expensive and for quite a short time - i was thinking 3-6 months...)
