Scuba diving/sporty holidays- Malta?

I’m after suggestions for a European holiday destination where 10yr DD can try scuba diving. Google searches seem to suggest Malta would be a good choice.
It looks to be a marmite destination- any thoughts or other suggestions?
(We like Portugal/ Greece if that helps!)

DH is an avid scuba diver so we’ve done a lot.

Our favourite places in Europe have been :

Malta - but specifically Gozo, super clear waters. good dive scene. Not really touristy resorts, but some lovely accommodation.

Croatia - Losinj is brilliant for diving, but Brac island is probably my favourite place to go on a diving trip in Europe. Gorgeous island, lots of diving centres / schools / trips. Great food, gorgeous beaches and coves, lovely atmosphere. Very peaceful and tranquil compared to Hvar!

Greece - Zakynthos/Zante has some excellent diving, especially around the Marine Park, better later in the season than the start though.
