Villa/apartment with own pool within a hotel

Hi
Wanting to book a holiday for 6 of us - age 10 up. Mainly teenagers who like a balance of exploring and chilling. Must have wifi.
Need villa/ apartment with own pool to meet special needs of one son. However don't want to be isolated so was thinking is there such a thing within a hotel complex?
I'd like wall to wall sun, an amazing sandy beach you can swim in, aiming for hippy luxury eg don't want to have to dress up for dinner or watch a kids club disco, would
Like something spa or therapy I can dip into - yoga a plus. No to a hotel buffet - I like lovely food and happy to go out at least half the evenings for local restaurants.
Ideally fly from southampton. Haven't done a holiday like this before and due to a really really shit time lately we all need a bit of a break and a bit of looking after.
I don't know where to start to even look?

Bumping for you as I’m interested in what might be recommended.

We have to book Airbnb/apartments due to the kids’ multiple food allergies. It’s easy finding a nice place to rent but you do miss out on that looked-after, relaxed feeling. A spa, bar and housekeeping would really make up for having to do all the cooking and making packed lunches whilst on holiday!

I’m always on the look out for complexes that offer apartments but don’t veer too much toward one extreme or the other (Brits abroad kids club > stuffy £££). I’ve never booked this type of holiday as we usually choose city/culture breaks but very much feeling the need for a fly and flop now.

Waterland in Negombo, Sri Lanka. I have no idea about the flights as I don't live in the UK.

Depends on budget but Six Senses hotels around the world usually have rooms/mini-villas with their own pools. Expensive but we've never had a bad stay in one! They are mostly longhaul from UK - the closest one in Portugal doesn't have pool rooms (or at least it didn't the last time I looked!).

Eagles villas / eagles palace in Halkidiki?

Caribbean, windjammer is a lovely AI with A La carte and villa with pool (we stayed in it)

Europe, loads of AI with pools or swim ups.

Eagles, Daios, have private pools, loads of places have swim ups.

@YouBetYourBippy

The 2-bed pool villa in the Portugal Six Senses is £5,543.67 per night!

@WingateAndSlim Ha. They've always been expensive but we've never paid anything like that 🤣 We haven't been to one of them for a while though so I can imagine, like most places, it's got mega-expensive since Covid.

Budget? Flying time? I personally think you need to be looking at a villa in a resort unless you are able to pay a huge amount, or compromise on interconnected swim up rooms in a hotel. Southampton hasn't got a huge amount of choice either. I personally would look perhaps at the algarve or Italy as both have laid back food (in Spain and Greece we found some hotels insist on dressing for dinner

Your wish list sounds very, very expensive!

Whentwobecomesthree · 02/07/2024 15:29

Domes resorts often have rooms with private pools

Nw22 · 02/07/2024 15:45

Six senses is definitely that vibe but most of the resorts are long haul. I really love six senses yao noi in Thailand.

We have had a room with a private pool at Baobab Suites in Tenerife.

Martinhal in sagres Portugal could work!
