Eurocamp France- do you recommend?

Looking at a Eurocamp venue in France. Just wondering if it's worth it for the kids (5&7). We won't be driving and I'm just wondering if it rains, what there normally is to do. It says in the description that there's a shuttle to Disneyland; would that be from the Eurocamp itself? Just trying to see if the typical French Eurocamp experience is recommended on here especially as we won't have a car. It's a lodge we'd be staying in. TIA

Is it La Croix du Vieux Pont site you are looking at? If so we stayed there a couple of times. It is a large campsite with playgrounds for DCs to play in as well as a pool complex.

It's many years since we stayed there and it has grown a lot. There is even more to do on site. What is your plan for food? There is a small supermarket onsite plus restaurants and takeaways.

We did a trip into Paris and it went from the campsite itself (near reception)

I think campsite holidays are great for families. My top tip is to slow right down. There is no rush.

I love them, although we don’t always do Eurocamp. We’ve done Yelloh and sometimes book direct with the campsite. The dc love making friends, most of them have kids clubs to keep them entertained so I can read a book or hit the spa. The pool facilities are generally very good and I love the flexibility of having two separate sleeping areas and a kitchen.

There's a Facebook group for Eurocamp called Eurocamp Unofficial Supporters Group and you can search each site.
We have used Eurocamp in France a lot and love it but we drive which makes it easier to explore each area.

I just came on to start a similar thread.
Are you planning to fly OP? I'm looking for one nearish to an airport as we wouldn't drive either.
Also. Is French speaking a must?! My French is really poor!

@MissAtomicBomb1 Have a look at Club Faret. It’s really close to Beziers airport and right on the beach. You can easily get by with the most basic of French. The bigger sites are very multilingual.

I’ve been to Club Faret- it’s great! There’s a cycle courier there- you can hire bikes, or go on guided rides along the Midi Canal, or to a local town. There are great pools, and also a beach which is good for bodyboarding.

Also, there are English couriers on Eurocamp sites. My son did it for a few years.

I'm not sure if that is still true. We are just back from St Avit Loisirs in Dordogne. No Eurocamp reps, the site was operated locally. This appears to be the same for a lot of other sites as well.

Out of curiosity I had a look at Eurocamp jobs - no longer possible for most UK passport holders. Brexit innit!

@MissAtomicBomb1 you will find that a lot of languages are spoken on site.

Love Eurocamp. We are just back from Les Menhirs in Carnac. French site but entirely English clientele. Great pools, lovely atea. Previously been to La Chapelle in Argeles sur Mer and that was even better.

We have stayed in lots of Sandaya campsites in France and highly recommend them. Lots have covered pools if the weather is bad, facilities vary from site to site. We just returned from one just outside Paris. It was a smaller site but easy 15min train into the city and just over an hr on the train to Disney.

They are great for kids and we find them really chilled out and relaxing

We love Eurocamp too but we do always drive (except once but that was Lake Garda).
Never been to a bad site. Don't think you necessarily get English couriers now but we had a lovely Dutch one last year in the Netherlands.

If you are looking for proximity to Disneyland Paris then La Croix du Vieux Pont was great and coach trips ran from the site. We haven't been for a good few years but it's a really lovely site, great pools and a manmade lake for a beach feel. We would definitely return.

We love Eurocamp style holidays but usually book direct with the sites rather than through Eurocamp. We always drive so we can explore the local area and bring lots of lovely food and drink home. A lot of sites are quite rural so can be isolated without a car. Ok if you are on a large site with lots to do. Eurocamp are on hundreds of holiday parks including 7 in the Paris so worth looking to see if there is a site that suits you better.

We stayed at the one you are looking at but it was called something else when we went. Only stayed 4 nights and used it as a base for Disney and central Paris but we did have a car. Not much around it and it’s a small site. We were there in a heatwave so the pool was handy after a hot day out.
