Groups of families - where to go?

We are looking at going away for May half term next year with 2 uni friends and their families. Groups will consist of:
Family 1 - Me, DH, DD(6), DS(3)
Family 2 - Wife, husband, DD(6), DD(5)
Family 3 - Wife, husband, DS(6), DD(3)

females all met at uni and all the husbands get along and are friendly with each other. Usually only in group settings, but all very chatty and hands on with all kids etc. We are pretty comfortable with each other and have done a couple of weekends away in UK.

we considered a EuroCamp, but none of us have been before and therefore aren't sure on the idea. We also want it to be warm with war pools. Kids are pretty fussy eaters, so AI would be good (as long as food is nice) but not essential. Would love kids club/mini disco in the evening.

are there places where you can rent big villas with private pools that are also as part of a complex to get the nighttime entertainment for kids?

where would you recommend going with our criteria?

We have done a couple of group holidays to Eurocamp type sites in France and Italy. When you book, you can request your accommodation to be next to, or in close proximity to, each other. Some sites will have a few mobile homes around a little green area, which is nice for kids to be able to play outside the units while parents sit and have a drink on the deck. Also found it quite good for fussy eaters, as we cooked some
nights so could stick with food they felt happy with, but also ate out a couple of times in local towns or at the site restaurants.

Oh that's good to know. Did you prefer the Italian or French camps?

Ooh hard to say, and I guess it could vary rather a lot by each site as well as by country. But we probably preferred our Italian holiday, we stayed in a lodge tent (canvas tent with proper shower, toilet, kitchen, etc) which they have in France, but it seems rare to find one with bathroom facilities, so you have to go to the toilet/shower blocks. We liked the kids entertainment better at the Italian one and the restaurant was larger and had more to offer. But really, both sites were really well equipped and we had no complaints!
