My ds has just weaned himself at 1 years old, and I had been hoping he would keep going til longer as we're travelling from Oz to UK in June, non stop. What do you do about the whole bottle thing on flight, he's happy on cows milk.. but not sure how you do this for 24 hours...?

Will he drink uht milk? For my dd and ds, I used to take numerous small packs of uht for the longhaul flights. Then no hassle to keep the milk fresh. My kids were OK with the taste of UHT. No need for bottle perhaps since he could move straight to cup?

heavy to carry though - and this was before the flight restrictions re liquids ... just thought of that. You'd need to check they would let you take it on board.

They have milk on the plane.

You can get some follow on milks in handy sachets, then just bring bottles and ask the flight attendants for boiled water.

The liquids thing at airports is a nightmare and every airport seems to interpret it differently. I used to use cartons of milk but they wouldn't be allowed now.

I just saw Bubbaluv's post and would say that personally I would prefer to bring my own. My sister flew by herself from Oz to Ireland with 3 and 18 month old kids (brave woman) and was given milk for the 18 month old that made him violently sick. Covered with puke, 2 kids and 20 hours to go, I still shudder at the though!

Thanks for all the replies, can't believe you've been so prompt. Shall hunt out the sachets, never seen them. And work on the cup. I'm hoping the stewards would let me wash out bottles, can't see that being a prob.surely. Any other great tips would be appreciated, on anything with tots and planes. I've booked bulkheads as have dh and dd who is 5 as well. Hmm.
