Camping - any companies do it all for you!

Hello
have booked a
lovely camping site in new forest close to coast - I thought I’d gone for pre erected tent service , but I made a mistake and just bought a pitch.

I don’t want to invest in all the gear (as I have no idea), soo my question is , does a company exist that provides not just hire but will also set it all up for you? I really don’t need to know it’s half the fun etc etc …does such a service exist ?

Hire a campervan maybe?

They aren’t allowed on this site!

Do they allow trailer tents? As they are normally very easy to put up. I have never hired one however.

Have you asked the campsite themselves because we have stayed at some sites that do this sort of service for you. You arrive and the tent and equipment is already setup ready to go. So maybe worth asking the site, if they don't they may know a local company that does.

This is what I booked but they said I didn’t ! Long story , I’d lose £20 if I cancel so an option

No I don’t want to glamp.

But surely the definition of what you are requesting is glamping. . Ie. Pre-pitched tents.

Glamping generally has more luxurious accommodation and equipment than in a traditional camping set-up - a more substantial tent, real beds with household bedding, that sort of thing.

What the OP wants, I think, is the sort of thing most campers have when they bring and set up their own accommodation - a poled or air tent, camp beds, sleeping bags. Except that someone else has done the hauling and setting up.

Do you have any equipment? Could you ask to borrow a tent off friends? That way you could try it out without all the initial investment.

TeachesOfPeaches · 22/06/2024 08:14

OP losing £20 is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying all of the necessary camping equipment. Just cancel.

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 22/06/2024 11:06

You say there is a pre-erected tent service there as you thought you booked it. Can't uou just pay the difference now and upgrade?

I think that’s one party of glamping, isn’t it generally at a site with more luxurious options too and hot water and showers !

Hot water and showers are pretty standard!
But there are a million variables with campsites, and I do see more nowadays offering the 'wild camping experience '
Anyway, I hope you go and have a lovely time and forget about the hassles.

We have never been to a campsite that doesn't have hot water and showers. OK you have to share, but modern shower blocks at campsite are normally quite fancy. Or I'm quite fuzzy when I book.

I know a lot now do wild camping but I wouldn't do that thanks. Camping with Scouts is normally more luxurious then wild camping nowadays. And even in willing to do that for a few nights.

Hill Farm Camping in the chilterns do pre-set up tents, really nice camp site!
