Jet2 and last minute deals

Just a quick one. Do jet2 discount their holidays a few weeks before departure? Dd and I want a 3/4 night break October half term but can’t decide where to go. Just curious if they discount closer to the departure or is it other way and goes up? I usually book flights and accommodation separately but considering jet2 as a package this time.
thanks

Use Jet2 quite often but other than occasional discounts, usually the £25 or £60 off per holiday, don’t think I’ve ever seen them drop prices significantly to sell a few weeks before

The prices will drop if there are a lot of places unsold for given flights or destinations, and they will go up if they are nearly sold out. This has to be done in a reactive way because if people knew which way the prices would go, they would react accordingly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yield_management

It depends, but obviously half term might mean that there's not a lot of choice last minute. Whether or not you get a deal will depend on how flexible you are about destination, exact dates etc.

We booked a Jet2holidays package about 6 weeks before travel - we go next week. I did notice that the price had reduced by about 10% a couple of weeks after we'd booked.

Thanks! I will keep an eye out on prices

When is your half term? it sometimes varies across the country and we did pick up a great deal in October 2022 with jet2 booking a few weeks before we went

pizzaHeart · 21/06/2024 22:00

I think it’s about the same just a tiny bit cheaper but maybe it depends on destination/ length.
We booked less than 4 weeks before last year and struggled to get seats together on a plane so something to consider as well.

Invisimamma · 21/06/2024 22:04

I have only ever noticed Jet2 prices increase nearer to the date of travel. It's a demand driven system, so the more they sell the higher the prices go. If they have lots of surplus prices might drop or more free child places released.
Half term will be in high demand so prices are likely to increase rather than drop.

Best place to watch for cheap package deals would be the Facebook pages like Cheeky Trips or local discounted travel agents.

@Muchtoomuchtodo half term week starts 28th October so a bit late this year. Will be the last one we have to do in term time as dd will be y13!!
@Invisimamma I’m not on Facebook but also keep an eye out on some deals through agents and last minute type places.
We tend to do city breaks in October but I fancied something different. Was looking at Montenegro as looks really pretty there
