We’re doing the drive tomorrow with a 22 month and 8 month old. Can anyone recommend the best service stations along the French motorways? Many thanks 🙏

Unless you need the fuel I'd avoid them at all costs. If you can go to a supermarket in st malo before you hit the motorway for food and instead stop at the Aires which have picnic areas / toilets / space for your older one to burn off some energy.

I agree with taking a picnic . If you are using service stations the food is best at meal times ie 1-2.00 but consequently the queues can be long. You can often buy baguettes which can be nice but bringing your own is preferable in my experience. Then you can just go to service stations for fuel and use aires for taking a break and going to the loo.

Aire de Fenioux Ouest is a large service station with cafes, shops and restaurants on your route. Lots of space to run around and even a small play area. I’m sure the toilets have baby changing.

Thanks for all the brilliant recommendations. We had a fantastic week in france and the rest areas / service stations were excellent. The French children were so well behaved compared to my feral kiddies! 😂
