Your best AI or half-board with upper primary/pre-teens.

Thinking ahead to next year when my DC will be 10 and 12. Last year we went to hotel Letoonia in Turkey which was perfect as it had 2 bedroom bungalows, lots of pools, private beaches and the food was brilliant. We hadn't done AI before and we all enjoyed it - DH gets itchy feet so we hired a car for one day and explored some local ancient ruins which was nice.

So, I would like to do something similar but don't want to go exactly the same place. I don't know if this is even possible but we would like 2 bedrooms rather than all in 1 room, All inclusive or half board but with good food, not too far from something interesting for a day trip or two; waterslides and/or water sports available. Budget is decent but not quite IKOS.

Any recommendations with holidays you have been on that fit the above bill would be great to hear about - thank you.

No bungalows but the family rooms have a sliding partition. 2 minute walk to the beach, water park on site, walking distance to local shops / restaurants. Pedalos, SUP, scuba on the beach.

Other option is holiday village, the one in Kos has duplex condos, not sure about the the others, the Ibiza on doesn't, we went there a couple of years and it was a bit tired. The Tui blue in Ibiza is right next to it. not sure about the others.
