Hi my husband and I are in sorrento now and are loving it - we are here till Friday and are wondering whether it is worth going to Capri if we don’t go round the island as well ? We went to Positano and although we loved it the crowds were unbelievable until we got away from the main parts - I am guessing Capri will be the same - any thoughts on Capri thank you

We went there on a day trip from Sorrento, & were underwhelmed.
Can't see what all the fuss is about.

Crowded, very expensive - I seem to remember a cup of coffee was double the cost on the mainland.

I went to Capri on a day trip and enjoyed it. We went to Villa San Michele which I loved and wanted to move to. 😁 And to a cliff top place which looks over Pompei and the volcano. It’s where Plini the elder (I think was his name) watched Versuvias explode and wrote about it.

Its gorgeous but normally completely overrun. Procida or Ischia for the day are other possibilities.

We went to Sorrento this time last year and also loved it. Took a trip to Capri and, honestly, the crowds were so thick we couldn't walk around. We also did Positano and Capri was worse by far.

Thanks everyone - we went to Capri yesterday we booked a small boat trip around capri which had a stop in Capri for a couple of hours before going around the second half of the island inc stop for a swim. The boat trip was great would def recommend but underwhelmed by Capri itself too busy just designer shops in the town itself we did go down to an old monastery which had fantastic views across the bay and was peaceful, no crowds and had shade wished we had found it earlier as would have just spent our time there - I have enjoyed sorrento but would come back much earlier -/later in season when less busy
