I haven’t been to Greece since the 90’s, plus going Kavos, Crete has put me off Greece since!

Now looking to go in May next year for a week as a family of 5.

which is nicer out of Kos and Rhodes would you say?

any hotel recommendations would be great please. Looking for somewhere really nice.

Thanks

Lindos Rhodes. The nicest place in Greece!!

Never been to Rhodes, but we had a lovely holiday in Kos in May this year.

We went to Kardamena in Kos, it was lovely, but a bit, well, dull... Confused

In what way was it dull?

We stayed in Kos Town and it wasn't dull at all.

There were a few nice bars, but not much to do at all, I suppose it was just a bit less lively than I'd have liked. It wasn't unpleasant, but probably more somewhere you'd go for a nice relaxing holiday (if you like that sort of thing!)

Love Rhodes and Kos both fab think it depends on which hotels you’re looking at in particular and the nearest beaches

BlueyAndBing0 · 20/06/2024 21:10

One of the best hotels I've ever been to was in Rhodes, Lindos!!!! It's called Lindos Memories and where I got engaged Grin

I think Kos Town is more lively.
We aren't bothered about lively nightlife. A drink and a meal out is an ideal evening for us.

Once we have eaten we just walk back to our accommodation.

We stayed just outside Kos Town but walked in quite often. It was lovely.

Thanks everyone. I’m not worried about lovely, just what a really nice luxury hotel and maybe a nice beach nearby for a wander x

Ikos Kos

We stayed in Lardos/Rhodes self contained house. We had a great time, it was perfect for us; we rented a car to explore the island. We don’t like big resorts and prefer more independence. We prefer a more authentic experience.

Just read that you want a Luxury hotel; I am sure you will find one in Rhodes. There are lots

Same here. We stayed in Kos Town and enjoyed it. DH found it too busy and prefers somewhere quieter, but we did enjoy looking around the historical sights. We stayed in Tigaki last time.

While Kavos is indeed a hell hole (drove through it a few years ago) the rest of Corfu is absolutely stunning and nothing like that.
But to answer your actual questions, Rhodes town has a beach and a number of nice 4 and 5 star hotels.
The old walled town is absolutely stunning.
