Hi, anyone know how you recline seats in economy section of airbus a350?

In my day you pressed a button on right armrest and pushed back but I've not flown long haul for 20 years.

DS has just done a 12 hour flight upright because he didnt know how. He is neurodiverse and wouldn't ask anyone. I've tried to google but can't get an answer! Tia

Still the same. Here's a photo of British Airways A350 economy class seat.

Every airline specifies the seats they want (Airbus doesn't supply them), so there is no universal answer. But generally in economy it will be a button. In some business class seats you need a degree in computer science.

Ha ha is that right, samarrange? DS might've been better at that! He now has Orangello's picture and I'll encourage him to ask if for some reason the button isn't there!

Very true, seats (suppliers/types) are often a customer option.

I must admit I thought somewhere out on the internet I’d seen a website with the sort of the detail the OP was after but darned if I can find it ATM.

Not every seat on a plane reclines. For example the seats in front of an exit row often don’t. So that could be the answer? I don’t think I’ve seen anything other than a button in economy.

https://www.seatguru.com/ - he can look up his flight on this website and it’ll give a map, any seats marked red or yellow have more info if you click on them, including if they don’t recline.

I think it’s very rare for there to be seats that don’t recline at all on Long Haul types such as the 350 but I know you can end up with limited decline in some
Rows right at the back.

The wide bodied aircraft also don’t tend to have the small overwing/self help emergency exits that in part lead to having nil recline on some seat rows on many short haul types….That said somebody will prove me wrong via Seat Guru.

What I do know for certain is I’ve certainly encountered economy seats where the recline selection was a lever/tab on the front end of the arm rest, but it was a long time ago and I’m darned if I can remember the aircraft type…button on the side is the favourite these days.
