Long haul solo survival tips

Hi

I'm travelling long haul for work (12 hr plane, US). I did this many years ago but now I'm old & tired!

Hit me with your tips & purchases for long haul flights. I need to be presentable on the other end!!

What do I pack?

Do I take change of clothes? In theory is "night time" on both flights although the time difference makes it all a bit weird.

How do I handle jet lag? On arrival I have 1 low key day then 3 days of intense work. On return I'll be straight back into kids/school runs/ sorting out whatever state my house has got into in my absence!

Sadly in economy class despite being a work trip Confused

Do you need to be smart straight off the plane? I travel a lot for work and usually travel in comfy clothes then change into work gear at the airport.

Don’t drink too much alcohol or caffeine on the plane - but as much water as you’re able.

I find coming east is worse than going west for jet lag. As soon as you get on the plane, start working in the time zone you’ll be landing in. On your low key day, try and get as much sunlight and fresh air as you can and try and eat meals at the appropriate time.
