Cofu, what to wear, June!

Off to Corfu soon, will be in the 30's and I'm trying to sort my packing.
So far I have a few pairs of linen shorts/tops for daytime, plus a couple of loose floaty tops and trousers for the evenings.
Bikini and beach cover-ups too, plus birks and beach shoes.
I am not really a dress person but don't know if they would be better in the heat?
Please help!

I'm going next week and was in corfu similar time last year. It was very warm, on a night I mainly wore cotton dresses or smart shorts and vest or bandeau top. After years of hiding my legs (scar on leg I was self conscious about) I embrace shorts as they can be dressed up or down.

Remember mosquito repellent...

Have a lovely time!

Thanks! Are the plug in devices the best thing to use against mosquitoes?

Once it's in the mid 30s I find loose dresses much more comfortable than trousers. In June it will get dark later so you can often be going out for dinner while the sun is still very hot.
Recently I'v started using dresses in the day as well. A t shirt dress over bikini is cool and easy to slip on and off at the pool or beach.
Deet spray. Morning and night, the day you forget you will get bitten. Plus plugins in the room, especially if you have the door open.

Yeh I use them in the room but also cover myself in repellent. They normally eat me alive if not!
Avon skin so soft is supposed to be good too, I havent tried it yet though

Just an update, didn't need dresses! Temp was 33°+constantly - wore swimwear during the day,, with overshirts.
Then linen shorts and tops in the evenings.
No mosquitoes at all where we were....phew!

@Tillygan60 where were you that had no mozzies please? Planning a Corfu trip in near future!

Notimeforaname · 30/06/2024 11:27

I love Corfu ,going in August/Sept for 5th time! But there's always mozzies!! Surprised you didn't encounter any but if you were wearing repellent every day, that may be why. I wear it all day, have a plug-in in room and also spray the repellent around the room as we leave dinner.

@Wilma55
What kind of holiday are you lookin for in Corfu? Tiny village or something bigger? Cheap and cheerful or something more fancy?

Definitely pack the Jungle Formula, and you need loose clothing, nothing remotely fitted

We were in Benitses, close to the old town. The hotel had air con, which maybe kept the mosquitoes away. We used repellant and wrist bands in the evenings when we went out. To be honest we hardly saw any bites on any one at the airport when we came home either...we had a great time!
