Central Vietnam - May or July??

Any advice please on which time of year is better for weather for a trip to Central Vietnam - Hoi An, Hue, Lang Co areas - for 2 weeks ish either over May half term (last week May and 1st week of June) or beginning of school summer holidays in end July into early August?

We need to stick to school holidays (with at most 1 or 2 days extra outside them, helpfully school does a 2 week May half term!) for next year as already exhausted what we can get away with on term time dates

I want to jump on flights when they are released and May 2025 dates will be out soon

I would pick May, less hot.

My husband went to Vietnam this may. It was insanely hot - over 40 degrees. Granted I think that's unusual but you never know with weather nowadays.
