Insurance USA over 75 yrs old

Hi, has anyone bought insurance for travel to the USA for an over 75 year old. I'm not getting anywhere fast. Either they won't insure due to age or the cost is huge, £300 and over. Has anyone manage to get anything cheaper or am I wasting my time trying to find anything below that.

Unfortunately it is incredibly expensive. My 86 year old Mum recently came for a month and it cost about 1200 GBP but she did have previous health issues. Not much help, I know!

I think my parents had a bank account that included travel insurance & this covered them. I think the last time they went was when they were about 80.

I helped a family member get theirs organised recently and it was about £1600 - they do have a good amount of pre existing conditions though

It's going to be hundreds, £300 is pretty good at that age for the USA. What were you expecting to pay?

Thanks for the replies. £300 seems cheap now after reading these responses. My mums in perfect health, fit as a fiddle even climbing mountains this time last year but they obviously wouldn't know that. We haven't been over to the US for about 18 years so no idea of the costs now. Anyway I managed to get one for £224 in the end which now sounds like a bargain!
