you're screwed then.

Only joking. I think the sucking motion helps with the ears so try and time a bottle for take off and landing? Plenty of finger food like rice cakes etc to distract.

He may do, tho he is teeth and tends to just bite.
we were planning on keeping him hungry and giving him his bottle for take off and hopefully landing.
which tends to be worse - up or down?

i have recently flown 9hrs with DS 8 months. I fed up and down, as yours is a short flight you could split the bottles or water them down. Even giving them something to nibble on will be fine it is the sucking chewing motion to clear the ears. It really is not as bad as you think the thought of it is always worse!

Flew last year was breast feeding plus formula. Main problem was getting formula through security because of the liquid thing. Pre-ordered SMA cartons to make sure they were in Boots after I'd passed though to the duty free seciton.

Baby was 7 months on a 9 hour flight and was fantastic. Planning same trip in a few weeks but now he is 18 months - I'm dreading it.

We flew to Greece when DD was 7 months, that was a 4 hour flight. She got fractious on the way home but slept most of the way out.

We took it in turns to walk her round the plane - she got loads of ahhhs by the grandparents who made up 50% of the travellers!

I gave her a bottle on the way out and on the way back, the staff were really helpful and heated it for me etc.

Last year we went to Majorca - only a 2 1/2 hour flight and had invested in a portable DVD player - a LIFE SAVER!!!
