All inclusive with 2 bedrooms

flingleflongle · 11/06/2024 16:04

We are looking for an all-inclusive holiday for next year - somewhere like Menorca, Fuerteventura, Portugal, Greece etc

We have two children - they'll be 4 and 9 and want somewhere with 2 bedrooms ideally. I don't want them to sleep in the lounge as, when they're in bed, we will want somewhere to be until we go to sleep. I also don't really like the idea of paying £5k+ to sleep on a sofa.

Any recommendations??

I just searched this out of interest and yes, you're absolutely right it does come up with a perfect two bedroom apartment. Perfect flight times. And only an extra £300 for the room upgrade. I might just book that 🤣 I'd prefer Greece to Turkey mind you, if there's anything on your shortlist you could share!

I wondered about the dates thing but I kept them the same- only changed the number of children and poof, 2beds vanished. I didn't know booking a holiday could be such a headache!

I'll check my shortlist :)

Hayley1256 · 06/02/2025 22:12

So my shortlist is based on prices in July school holidays so they will be different for other times, also based on 2 adults and 1 child (9 year old). Its letting me change to 2 bedrooms at booking stage for the following places:

-Lindos Imperial Resort & Spa

-Akti Beach Club (Maisonette or pool suite)

-Mirabello Bay Luxury Resort formerly Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay

-MarBella Mar-Bella Collection

-Akti Coast Club

These are all the ones had on my list for Greece, all let me select the right room at booking stage based in 2 adults and 1 child. I hope you find something. We loved Turkey when we went - the food and entertainment was amazing (so was the shopping)

Blue Lagoon Village in Kos, with Tui has 2 bedroom family rooms.

Menorca Prinsotel sa caleta - very quiet if that’s what you like and can upgrade to half board (drinks v cheap)

We did a Prinsotel in Majorca and it was lovely. Pretty quiet and chilled though, which was perfect for what we wanted.

Short walk to a decent beach too

Elba Sara in fuertaventura

@Hayley1256 you're a legend, thanks so much for taking the time! I've had a quick look and they are lovely places especially the Rhodes one. It's DC first time flying so I'm not sure if turkey is a bit far but annoyingly that ones my favourite!
And thank you to everyone else for suggestions of where these mythical two bedroom places exist- we will have a proper trawl over the weekend and see if we can find a winner!

Your welcome :) I think it's only an extra 30 mins to Turkey, mine was 7 when we went to Turkey and she hadn't flown since before covid but she loved it. Took lots of small games, snacks, colouring, books and of course a tablet with her shows downloaded. She's very excited to go back to Turkey next year. I hope you find somewhere!

We stayed at the Marsense Paradise Hotel in Cala n’Bosch, Menorca last year in a 2 bed apartment, we really liked it.

Thanks @PeppyAquaFinch!

The Lanzarote one especially looks like the sort of thing I'm aiming for in terms of resort/proximity to beach and restaurants but I'm having the same problem- I can see there is a two bedroom apartment (when I pretend I have 3 children!) but when I go through to book the maximum I can have is a junior suite, which is one bedroom and one living area only.

It'd be lovely holiday shopping if not for this issue 🥴

The children sleeping on the sofas is not that bad, my four and eight year old slept on the sofas at Los Zocos without any problems. The sofa beds aren't a sofa as such, they are full size single beds placed in an "L" shape to look like a sofa if the room is under occupied. I slept on one myself for two weeks when DS was a baby and I had the cot out there as it was easier for feeding.

You say you want some time with your husband after the kids have gone to bed - mine wanted to stay at the entertainment every night until it finished at 11 pm or we would go for a wander around the resort and get back around the same time (at home my DC go to bed at 7 pm and 8 pm but when you're on holiday they want to stay up and why not). Both of mine were out like a light as soon as their heads hit the pillow and dynamite wouldn't have woken them due to all the dancing and running around at the entertainment.

You and your husband could take some drinks out onto the balcony and just leave the door slightly open so you can get back in. Another option is the DC have the bedroom and you and DP have the rest of the place to yourselves for the whole evening.

It's £5k for the one bedroom with sofa beds, have you seen the cost for an under occupied 2 bed?

CrazyCatLady42 · 07/02/2025 13:57

If you'd consider half board, which I would with kids that age, Bahiazul resort in Fuertaventura is lovely. Self contained villas with your own pool, and kitchen but nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. They do really nice freshly grilled to order meats etc every night as part so doesn't feel canteen like.
I'd highly recommend it.
Villas are two and three bedrooms.

waddlingthroughdorset · 07/02/2025 20:19

Have a look at the Grecotal Costa Botanica in Corfu. 2 bedroom suites seem to be standard there. We had a fab holiday last year and will be going again!

Notoironing · 08/02/2025 08:47

Highly recommend Royal son Bou in Menorca

Twilightstarbright · 10/02/2025 19:31

I book aqueora in Lanzarote direct, also coma gran in Majorca. I find booking direct gives me the room type I want.

Hayley1256 · 11/02/2025 09:34

@NahThen did you find somewhere?

NahThen · 12/02/2025 08:54

We haven't yet @Hayley1256, balancing everyone's wants/needs with the budget is proving a lot more difficult than I expected! I'm not fussy at all- just want some sunshine!- but want it to be right for DP & DC.
We have a proper chunk of time to look into it at the weekend so I'm hoping we find something that ticks all of the boxes then 😬

Samesame47 · 12/02/2025 08:59

For children that age I would highly recommend Pestana Columbus in Porto Santo (island off Madeira), we love to travel and have done extensively over the years but we loved that placed so much with young children we went 4 years running. Your best to book direct with the hotel manager and do flights separate, always saved us at least £2k, beautiful beaches, incredibly safe and entertainment everyone can enjoy. They have standard hotel rooms one side of the resort, the other that we stayed at is fully equipped apartments (the hotel is all inclusive but very handy having a washing machine)

LordTaylor · 05/03/2025 13:36

Just bite the bullet and go to Mauritius, most hotels have family suites with 2 rooms. The price isn't much more expensive than going the Med

I find it utterly infuriating that it is not possible to search for places that have 2 bedrooms on websites like tui. Didn’t think of the 6 person hack mentioned above, smart move!!

I don’t get why it’s such a rare thing to want? I don’t want the kids in my room on holidays, and don’t want to sleep on a sofa bed, nor have my kids in the lounge. Yet almost all family rooms have one of these issues!!

no recommendations I’m afraid OP as I’ve yet to find anywhere. I thought I did last year but the wall between my daughters ‘bedroom’ and the lounge was half height, so her bed was essentially in the lounge 🙄

If you select a hotel and then look on Booking . com then you can select and look at photos of room types much more easily. It’s sometimes much cheaper to book the hotel directly on there too and then to get budget flights separately (we did this on a family holiday last year and saved over £4000 compared to Tui price, and Tui were using EasyJet flights anyway so we were actually on the same flights! And actually got a better room type than with Tui as well, as they charge much more for “upgrades”)

We go to the Blue Lagoon Resort in Kos. We always get a 2 bedroom room. No living room but never needed it anyway, there were chairs in the twin/tripple room but that's where the kids slept

Filogree · 05/05/2025 11:14

We stayed in a beautiful 2 bed in Ibiza at Cala Pada, we have a 2 bed this year at the Blue Lagoon Village in Kos, not been yet but looks nice!

Love the 6 person idea for bringing up two beds!

Just posted after you, we’re heading here this year!
