First holiday abroad with 2yo, where would you go?

We loved travelling before DS but haven't been abroad since before he was born.

Direct flights from Glasgow or Edinburgh are a must.

We'll probably stay in a city, but we'd love to get out into the countryside or to the beach, or go down a river, go to a lake etc too.

Looking for somewhere we could spend a week or 2.

As a fellow two-year-old-haver, I am watching with interest!

Italian Lakes

Italian Lakes is a good idea. Any others?

Majorca. Palma is a lovely city, lots of beautiful child friendly beach areas nearby and only 2.5 hour flight from the UK.

We went to Barcelona, Florence, Rome, Paris, and Berlin around that age. Had a great time in all those places, lovely play parks. Barcelona would be a good fit as you have the beach and the city, we had a great time.

Sounds like Palma wld be ideal for u. Plenty flight options for Glasgow/edinburgh. It's a city and has plenty to do in and nearby. Short flight and short transfer time from airport.
