Anyone booked a Jet2 villa but done a private transfer rather than car hire

Looking to book a villa though Jet2, but not keen on driving. All the villas I'm considering are within an hour of the airports and a short walk to restaurants/shops. Just looking for a chilled holiday so don't need a car for exploring.

Has anyone done this with Jet2 or similar? I wouldn't be asking them to discount on the basis we don't take them up on car hire. I am trying to call them but my call keeps dropping so thought I'd ask in the meantime.

On every package holiday I book a taxi myself instead of using the coach transfer. Would be no different in a villa except of course you are paying for the car hire. Just let them know.

Hi, if you click through to the booking page (where you would enter your names) and scroll down to the bottom, you can cancel the car hire and book coach transfers or sometimes private transfers. It’s not available for all resorts, but if it is available the options will be there for you to see. Once you have selected your option it will recalculate the price for you. No point speaking to Jet2 about this - many of the staff don’t know you can do this.

I'm not sure the included car hire is worth it as last time we looked at Jet2villa holidays the car was from one of those shyster companies that charges you for a tank of petrol you don't use and 20 euro a day insurance. In the end we booked the flights and villa separately and our own car through a local company that I know operates fairly.

@Ocean10000 thanks, I've don't it now but it's a bit off putting that you have to click through before you can see the option of taking off the car/booking transfers. Not sure why they don't add a little paragraph to the first page.

For anyone interested when you take off the car hire it reduced the holiday price by £300. We then were able to book a Jet2 transfer, lots of options for us, shared coach, private car, private coach. I would imagine that's dependent on where you are going. Private coach cost £160 for drop off and pick up. I'm sure it would have been cheaper to book the transfers separately but having it all under Jet2 made us feel more relaxed, having always had good experiences with them.
