Any recent hotel or airbnb Barcelona recommendations?

We are contemplating a 4 day city break instead of a beach holiday at £££. Has anyone got a good hotel or apartment rental recommendation? I'm hoping Barcelona will keep kids entertained with plenty to do and see for all ages. Fingers crossed. Or is it a mad idea for August?

The h10’s are good. We did it with 2 6yr olds they loved it!!

H10 rarely have a bad review from what I hear. A bit pricy I fear though ?

Catedral Bas apartments are very nice - off a quiet square but close to everything. Small pool on the roof too.

We stayed at the Citadines apartments on Las Ramblas. Good value for money and there is a roof top relaxation area - no pool though.

I do think Barcelona will be hotter than hell in the peak summer though.

We stayed in H10 Marina on a BA holidays break - 2 nights inclusive of flights from LHR - £250pp. Rooftop pool, spa, brilliant breakfasts, easy walking distance to the beach, the gorgeous park and zoo, Sagrada Familia, the Gothic quarter, the tapas bars area. Near two metros for access to other places. If you book via the hotel it is ££££ but on a BA deal it was very reasonable.

Just stayed at Avenue Suites and whenever i go back, I’ll definite stay there.
there are two small pools in two different floors, the rooftop has amazing views of the city.
it’s literally opposite Casa Mila but it doesn’t feel touristy and it is extremely safe.
there’s a whole avenue parallel to Gracia with lots of shops, restaurants and outdoor terraces.

I would travel there at a different time of year; its stifling hot in August.

Barcelona has had huge problems with Airbnb over the years and they are very unpopular. The proliferation of rental properties, for which platforms like AirBnb are partly responsible, is unpopular with locals as they have found themselves priced out (or worse) of certain neighbourhoods. Remember too that such sites do not check the veracity of property listings.
