Hello, two parter here on travel insurance.

My eldest is off to Vietnam for a month (she's 19).

She's then going to Spain for a year studying as part of her degree.

We usually get a family annual policy but covering Europe and I'm sure it's time limited to max number of days (doesn't cover ski either which we buy separately?

Anyone any advice or done similar? Two separate policies for this aside from our annual family one? Mainly healthcare obvs.

When my DC did a year abroad as part of their university course we used Year Abroad Insurance as its designed for just that! If you google 'student study abroad insurance' you will get quite a few options. Most standard travel insurance policies don't cover the full year abroad but the study abroad policy covers more than a year and also any trips home. Possessions left abroad whilst your student comes home for a visit are covered as are the ones they travel with etc.
