August weekend break with young teens.

Hi Everyone

After a tough school year it has just occurred to me that it would be nice to book a little break for our family. It will be me, DH, DD14 and DS 12 who is recently diagnosed autistic, but is easygoing with travel as long as he has access to a pool and some familiar food.

I like the beach but after getting stung by a jellyfish in Majorca last year it may not be high on the list for DD.
DH is easygoing as long as he can relax and DS just needs a pool as mentioned above.

Holiday resort or city break would be fine but I just cannot think. All previous holidays have been in Spain. We went to Barcelona in May. Can someone tell
me where to go please? 🙏

Budapest. Tons of outdoor baths and really good public transport. I'd recommend the baths on Margaret Island, really reasonably priced and mostly outdoor. Just spent a long weekend there with my 14 year old.

Otherwise if you are happy with Spain then Malaga? Or Cascais just outside of Lisbon.

Alton Towers?

Thank you for your suggestions. I was thinking Alton Towers myself but then thought some sun might be nice.
My husband I also wanted to go to Budapest so that’s a good shout too.
somehow Spain is where we h e always ended up, mainly Majorca. I’ll look into your suggestions. Thanks so much.

When in August? Most places / some places will just be too hot.

Mid to end of August. Got to be over a weekend as husband can’t take very long off work at the minute.
I was wondering about north or middle of France or something like that as thought it might not be too hot.
Maybe Austria or Germany? For a change.

Dubrovnik is stunning, perfect for a city break as has a bit of everything xx
