Copenhagen 1 night?

Can anyone give me any information on Copenhagen? DH and I have a long weekend off in October. I have seen very cheap flights to Copenhagen (Dublin too) but it’s only one night. The flight out is at 7 am on the Thursday and it leaves at 9 pm on the Friday night so good flight times giving us a good day and a half in the city.

While it’s probably not enough, what’s your thoughts on a quick trip? We could do 2 nights but hotel prices are really expensive although I have found this place. It’s a hostel which we’ve not done before but it’s got good reviews and the price is really goo - much cheaper than a hotel but then that gets me thinking too good to be true!

Looking at this instead of the usual let’s get in the car and stay localish. That said Tivoli Gardens does appear to be closed on our dates. It closes late September but then opens again later in October for Halloween. I wonder if we would regret going and not seeing some of the gardens.

thanks for helping.

Amazing city, you can def do the highlights in that time. Tivoli is a must and us amazing in the evening. We stayed in a similar hostel with kids and it was good, no problems at all.

October can be quite cold in Copenhagen.

What do you plan to do?

1 night works fine. Steelhouse is great for a short stay.

Mainly just wander a different city. I’ve not researched it much but we do like to just head off and see where we end up, stop for food and a glass of wine and then wander off again. We’ve done a few city breaks the same. We try and not go with any specific plan unless it’s an absolute must.

It's right next to the planetarium.

There is a new illusion museum that looks good. Don't know where it is though.

Copenhagen is ideal for a short trip. Tivoli is OK, but there is so much more to do that I wouldn't change plans just because Tivoli is closed on the dates you have available. Copenhagen is a relatively small city - most places are walkable or you could rent a bike. The public transport is cheap, frequent and reliable. The official VisitCopenhagen website has all the info you need.

Eating out in restaurants (particularly the places on Nyhavn, which are a bit "touristy") is expensive by UK standards, but cafes and places the locals go to are more affordable.
