Hi. Has anyone stayed in Tarragona before with kids?

We're self catering in nearby Cambrils for a week but wanted to spend two nights in a hotel beforehand and were considering Tarragona.
Imagine it will be hot hot hot but hoping to find a place with a pool.
We're drawn to it because one of our children (5 an 7) has coeliac disease and it helps to be in a place with decent restaurants in terms of opening up options for her to eat out.
Bottom line: Is it a town that's fun enough to potter about in with two small kids and does the heat come down a bit in the evenings?!
Hope everyone has a nice Summer. This is a break we really need after a very hard few years x

My boys loved Tarragona they were 4 and 6 when we went they loved the Roman amphitheater and Ruins they ran about them and had a ball. There’s lots of small playgrounds tucked away around the city and it’s only a 20min bus ride to La Pineda aqua park. It’s such a beautiful city!

These are the only two pics I can find without my kids on but look how stunning it is!

I'm going to Tarragona this summer. I've been before with a 4 year old and a toddler and had a good time. It was hot but not unbearably so. There is the beach of course and one of those tourist trains that goes around the city, which was fun.
