Has anyone cruised on Anthem of the Seas? Where did you eat?

DD is on a cruise with her aunt, my SIL. They are struggling with the food a bit and not enjoying it much. DD likes their pizza but not much else. They had dinner at Grande this evening and it was ok, but really disliked Windjammer and the main dining room. SIL said that things are bland, no taste or flavour and that the Windjammer food was also too oily.

SIL is Malaysian, so is used to really full-flavoured, delicious food in a nation that lives to eat rather than eats to live, but she's not much of a complainer usually so it must be quite bad rather than just a bit boring.

I know nothing at all about cruising but I always had the impression that the cruise lines prided themselves on the quality and abundance of their food. Is that not the case for Royal Caribbean?

I have cruised with royal caribbean on anthem and found the food very good including food served in the windjammer and mdr.

I’ve not been on that particular ship but I’ve been on another RC ship. I’m honestly surprised they haven’t found anything to their liking! The Windjammer can be busy but we always found something we liked, absolutely no bother. We also found the main dining room excellent too, never had an issue finding something.

Are they very fussy?

DD is very fussy, but generally finds something on every menu. SIL is very easy going and stoic so I'm surprised that she is also having trouble finding something she likes.

They may like the speciality restaurants if they don’t like the main dining room or the buffet.
I can’t imagine not liking any of it. I did go in the Anthem when it was only 20% full and found the food pretty decent. I don’t normally do buffets but enjoyed the pasta station where they make the sauce fresh for you.
