Travel First Aid Kit - with kids

Go to Majorca in a couple of weeks with 5 and 2 year old. Probably over thinking it but we've had a run of bugs and just wondering what does everyone take with them on holiday in case I'm missing anything?

Got:

• Plasters
• Calpol (sachets)
• Dioralyte

Swim ear - mine ALWAYs got ear infections, this stopped it.
Mossie spray
Anti histamine
Small first aid kit

I generally work on the basis of get what you need there but i have clumsy kids and the first aid kit often comes in handy and I know the brands of anti histamine and mossie spray we like / actually work.

Saline nose spray - good for congestion from either colds or hayfever!

Insect repellent
Bite/sting cream
Antihistamine
Savlon cream

Sting cream
Thermometer
Calpol and Nurofen
some plasters

Bepanthen cream. I know it's sold as a nappy cream but the stuff is amazing for healing scratches. In our house it's used for dry lips, scratches, sore nose when you have a cold, softening scabs so you aren't picking at them.

I always have some Arnica cream as DD is a champion in getting painful bruises so they help with getting them down faster.

Steri strips, tweezers, antiseptic cream, after sun, plastic sea shoes are a must.

I take small packets of most of the above for emergencies, but bear in mind that most medium to large resorts and towns in Majorca will have at least one pharmacy, so if you do need something when you are away, or forget something, it's generally quick and easy to get.

Sick bags have been invaluable for us when travelling. I always have one in my bag and one in my travel first aid kit now. My DD is always sick at the most unexpected moment. Also have been useful a few times for random strangers vomiting kids too.

I know this isn't what you asked but I'd also take a small craft bag - sellotape, glue stick, scissors as well as colouring. Can buy you a few hours and doesn't take up much room.

Oh and balloons!

Mine are adults now but we never had a single holiday without an ear infection. Find some ear plugs that they will wear and use them consistently from day 1.
Also chafing. My boys used to get terrible rashes around the tops of their legs from wet trunks. Vaseline works but you can also buy anti chafe gel.

We always took a little thermometer, antihistamine and antiseptic wipes too. Kids always seem to spike temperatures at the most inconvenient times on holiday 😅
