I’ve had really bad travel anxiety for years and it’s stopped me going in numerous holidays but can just about manage it with diazepam.
I am not scared of flying as such it’s the fact I’m not in control and can’t get off if I need to which has resulted in numerous panic attacks on flights pre medication. It’s awful and in the cold light of day I know it’s irrational but it makes me physically ill just thinking of flying. Yes I could not fly but my husband and kids put a lot of pressure on me (no judgement please).
I used to be prescribed it by my gp but now they won’t sue to guidelines. Last year I managed to get some through private health insurance but this year simply health have said no and to go on a course instead (but I don’t think we are going to crash so learning how a flight works won’t help).
I have booked in hypnotherapy but I still want some by the side of me just in case I freak out on the plane and try and open the doors or something equally hideous.
has anyone had any luck from other private doctors lately and if so can anyone recommend any? I’m getting in a right state already.
