Local hotels near Gatwick Airport with parking

Any recommendations for local hotels near Gatwick Airport that are reasonably priced? That allows you to leave your car in their car park?

We have been getting quotes from our house to Gatwick via taxi services and they are extremely expensive so was looking at an overnight stay the night before we fly.

Not keen on leaving my car in the airports car park as I have had a bad experience doing so in the past.

Any recommendations much appreciated 😊

I live local to Gatwick Airport so have never stayed in the hotels in the area but I know Cambridge hotel offers parking facilities. No idea what the hotel is like inside however

We always do the premier inn which is at the north terminal and then do one of the valet parking deals (either the official Gatwick airport or one of the other companies like purple parking or maple, whichever gives us the cheapest deal). It means you can just walk the two minutes into the terminal the next morning from the hotel and when you return your car is there waiting for you.

I’m the opposite, wary of using a hotel with parking as I am a little paranoid about where my car will end up🤦‍♀️

We have used the long stay parking a few times now without issue but it isn’t cheap! I don’t like the idea of handing my keys over which you don’t do with long stay so will be interested to see what recommendations you get.

There's another one in hookwood called 3 acres which isn't under the flight path and you don't give them your keys. This might be worth looking at

@MafaldaHopkirkRules Thank you, I have enquired so fingers crossed!

I booked parking for my son for 6 days at Cambridge Hotel, Gatwick Airport from 14th - 20th August 2024. Looking4Parking was the website used to make this booking.
The car was scratched while parked at Cambridge Hotel, Gatwick Airport. The damage was first seen immediately upon arrival home on the 20th. It was reported at that time and photo evidence was supplied.

Looking4Parking has denied any responsibility claiming that any blame rests with Cambridge Hotel and, despite being copied in on all e mail communications, Looking4Parking has rather washed its hands of the matter and has remained silent after advising that it does not share any damage responsibility.

My son and I have each written to Cambridge Hotel about the matter and I have also made a call to try to get the name and contact details of the person responsible for handling issues such as this. This information has not been supplied and we have been left with having to write to a general e mail address which is less than satisfactory.

I have made 5 separate requests in writing to the Cambridge Hotel for it to provide me with CCTV footage showing my son's car entering its car park on 14th August and leaving its car park on 20th August since this will obviously establish that the damage caused to the vehicle happened while the car was parked at the Cambridge Hotel. Cambridge Hotel has not complied with these simple requests.

Based on our experience and this honest summary of matters, I would not recommend using Looking4Parking or Cambridge Hotel as a car park booking agent and car park provider at Gatwick Airport. To date, neither company appears to be interested in investigating the legitimate complaint, resolving the matter in an honest and fair way, engaging in any relevant dialogue and delivering customer satisfaction.

There are plenty of car parking choices available to consumers and I would suggest that you shop elsewhere if our experience is anything to go by.
