Nissi beach or fig tree bay in Cyprus?

Hello! Sooo frustrated having spent hours searching online for a holiday for next year. DS will be 4 and DH and I are looking to go away with him for a family holiday before we get stuck paying extortionate prices when he starts school next September. So we'll probably go in May or June next year. Ideally 10 nights or 7 nights depending on cost. Budget is up to £3k - £3.5k. Really like the look of Cyprus as it has lovely beaches for a European destination (sad we can't afford long haul Caribbean or Mauritius just yet and we want to wait until DS is older for long haul too).

We basically want a child friendly 5 star (or good 4 star) resort that's on a nice sandy (not pebble) beach with a kids pool (a couple of water slides would be great but not looking for a hotel with a massive waterpark on site). Good food is a must. Ideally half board if there are restaurants walking distance from hotel otherwise we would go all inclusive if remote. The problem is a lot of child friendly hotels just look soooo huge and busy! We were hoping to find something in between that would be nice for us adults too.

Anyway the beaches in Cyprus look stunning. What I'm confused about is whether we should stay in Nissi beach or Fig Tree Bay. Best beaches are there. We were previously in love with Olympic Lagoon resort in Nissi but have decided against that as it's not on the beach (and no sea view) and also it looks like I could get quite busy with lots of weddings. So looking for somewhere else.

Has anyone stayed in any of these areas with similar age children? Is Nissi beach a lot busier than Fig Tree Bay? So confused

Both are nice beaches, but I think Fig Tree Bay is overall better for young families. Nissi beach can tend to be a bit more of a rowdy crowd in my experience.

There’s the Tui Blue Nausicaa Beach and also Capo Bay, both of which are quite well located.

Protaras is beautiful, it’s right next door to Fig Tree Bay, Nissi beach is very busy with a younger crowd.

Thanks! Exactly what I needed to know. Ok, I'll look at fig tree bay / protarus area and specifically the resorts you mention. Really want something beachfront.

Tui Blue Nausicaa is just off the front of the beach but has steps to access directly, Capo Bay is beach front.

Try Pernera too. Just a bit further along from Protaras. Very family friendly and quiet but plenty bars and restaurants. Kalamies beach is beautiful there 🤩Walk to Fig tree bay along the boardwalk in half hour.

Nissi beach is always packed and full of beautiful youngsters and loud music. We always go for an hour for a nosey but then leave! The foam parties in the afternoons are fun though and lots of families go too.

So glad I asked now! I was leaning towards Nissi before. Will definitely do a day trip there.
Good to know about the steps re. Nausicaa. Will prob go with capo bay then
