why am I like this? it means packing takes twice as long as it need. but I just can't make myself decide what I want before getting it all clean and ironed. it drives me mad. am I strange?

I do that too.

I do all the laundry, then pack the night before we go.

I even did it that way before all 5 of us went to Oz for 3 weeks! People were asking me weeks before we left if I had packed yet. I was saying "uh, no!" Why would I do that? I would have missed something, or needed something I'd already packed.

I do it but don't iron. I always take the iron with me and usually dh does it as we need it.

Oh, I do that! I thought it was just me!

I find I can't "see" what to pack unless it is all washed, ironed and laid out in front of me. It means the actual packing bit is done in a hurry the night before but it feels like I've been at it for weeks.
