Efteling

Planning on going to Efteling for our holiday next year. Two adults and kids 9,7&3. Just wanted accommodation recommendations staying in the park. Not sure which is best but also budget friendly?

And if anyone can suggest the best way to get there? Fly to Amsterdam? Fly to Eindhoven? Hire a car or are trains easy to navigate? Own car on the Ferry?

Thanks

If you are on Facebook there there is an ‘Efteling Just For Brits’ group which has loads of really useful info on it.

We went last July and stayed at the Landals in Kaatsheuval. If there had been more availability I’d have booked one of the more centre parcs type Landals (but longer drive to Efteling).

We got the eurotunnel. It’s about 4 hours from Calais. We stopped for lunch in Knokke on the Belgian coast which was lovely.

Efteling was fab but our best day out turned out to be Speelland about 30 mins away. Loads of fun on a lakeside beach with lots to do if the weather is good!

Thanks. That's great info. I'll check out the fb group.

We stayed at Bosrjick (not sure on spelling) in a town house there, it was my favourite ever holiday accomadation, I genuinely felt like I was staying in a fairytale house, the houses are so cute and the woodland is so peaceful, doesn't feel like a theme park at all. There's loads of play equipment in the holiday park and the kids loved it.

We are in Hampshire and we drove over using eurotunnel, easy drive.

We went with kids age 12 and 4. We stayed at a local hotel the night before, then had a full day in the park, one night in the main hotel and then a second day in the park. The hotel was VERY expensive but we only stayed one night and the breakfast was so enormous we didn’t really eat lunch.

We also self catered at the Eurocamp at Beekse Bergen/Speelland and that made our average daily cost pretty good. Book early to get good discounts.

We drove across, we did some other stops during our holiday and really enjoyed visiting Ghent and Dunkirk (huge empty beach).

We’ve added a trip to Efteling to a week at Duinrell camping with our own vehicle. We did overnight ferries from Harwich. First time was a day trip, second time was two nights in the on site Loonschland (spelt wrong) hotel. A few minutes further away but very pleasant. We got a 6 person room for 4 of us as we love extra space and the double bed was in an annex room curtained off so a bit more private.
