Oct weekend break on the water?

Hi there, I wonder if anyone could recommend somewhere within a 4/5 hour flight from Dublin for a relaxing long weekend in October? It’s a trip with a couple of girl friends and trying to hit off a few requirements!

  • on water (sea or lake)
  • mild weather in late Oct, ideally warm
  • nice for strolling around browsing shops, having nice dinners and drink
  • don’t need good nightlife ie clubbing
  • Not Barcelona, Madrid, Dubrovnik, Nice
  • we won’t rent a car, happy to get public transport from airport and use taxis during our stay

Any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks so much.

Mahon is lovely. Or Porto? Palma?

You need to be far south in Europe and it's not guaranteed by that point. Portugal, southern Spain, Crete in Greece, Cyprus, Sicily all are possible to get good weather. More guaranteed are the canaries

Most of the canaries are within 4-5 hours - how big a place would you like?

Would second Palma mentioned above

Other ideas:

Paphos
Bodrum
Funchal
Split
Crete

Thank you all. It doesn’t need to be a major tourist destination at all. Will check out some of these suggestions!

If you’re happy for a smaller place, my favourite place in the Canaries is Puerto de Mogan, Gran Canaria. Gorgeous little harbour town. Usually still mid-20s in October.
