We have just booked a house in the south of france for holiday. What we would like to know is your best ways of traveling from uk to france with a car and a very lively with zero concetration span 5 YO DS.

TIA

Depends where you are setting off from and where exactly you are going. We'd fly to the South of France and hire a car at the airport. But we live in the North West so have a lot of driving to do before we get to ferry/tunnel. If driving, would stop off a couple of times en route and invest in an DVD player to keep your DS occupied.

We have driven a few times, stopping in two places en route, and have also put the car on the train in Calais.

The train is quite expensive, but it's great to wake up in Nice. Driving is much cheaper, but it's two days of your holiday. There are lots of playgrounds on French motorways - like every 20km - but the more you stop, the more you drag out your journey.
