Central Loire, France areas to stay

Hello!
I'm hoping for recommendations for a Central Loire Valley area stopover for a couple of nights. I don't know the area at all, so hoping for areas/villages maybe a town, to stay in or near? We love hanging out near water, wine and vineyards, Chateaux and gardens!
We are 3 adults, 5 kids, and we're stopping between Dordogne and Paris for 2 nights/3 days at the end of August.
I'm going to look for something like VRBO or air BnB or a campsite with chalets, but mainly hoping for experience of the most lovely beautiful places?
I've never stayed in a big campsite with water park stuff though and the young ones would love that, not sure if I can cope with noisy busy myself though!
Huge thanks in advance for any tips, anything at all!!

We love Amboise and Blois. Amboise in particular is so pretty.

Amboise. We went a month ago and stayed 2 nights. Very handy for Chenonceau, which is stunning. It also has its own chateau, plus Clos de Luce, Da Vinci’s last home. We also visited some great caves for wine testing and brought some home. The Caves Monmoisseau are well worth a visit, not just for the tasting at the tour end, but the fascinating light displays and wine history.

We stayed in a great Air bnb across the river, and walked across the bridge into Amboise for dinner.

Otherwise, I’d suggest Blois, which is handier for Chambord.

Second Amboise for a couple of nights. I wouldn't stay there for longer, but it's perfect for a couple of days/nights.
