Solo lazy holiday in October. Where would you go?

Just that. Had a really active holiday earlier this year and am now looking to flop for a week or 10 days. Likely second week of October. Anywhere not too far away still hot and sunny then? Open to ideas!

Actually not second week. Maybe third

Morocco might still be warm enough to be lazy? Agadir is nice for a fly-and-flop.

I would second Morocco, but would probably stick to Agadir as a solo female traveller

The Canaries are usually still warm enough - the south coast of Tenerife is usually the warmest but Gran Canaria or Lanzarote would be an option too.

Cyprus and some parts of Turkey might be warm enough, but it can be a bit more changeable. The sea is lovely and warm though

I’ve had a fabulous time as a solo female in both Hurghada and Sharm. Flight time is about 4.5 hours so might be a little longer, but weather will still be good in October.

I’d recommend the Jaz Aquaviva or Jaz Sharm Dreams. Both AI and perfect for just complete chilling!

Croatia is beautiful at that time of the year.

I went to Sitges in Spain last October (5 days) before visiting a friend in Barcelona which was 30 mins by train.

I spent my days on the beach and in the sea, eating, drinking and popping into some of the shops in the small town. Highly recommend.

Ooh! Lovely thread.
I am planning on the same later this year but would love somewhere with sea shells too.
Do any of the places have seashells?
(Hope you don't mind me asking OP)

I went to Lanzarote in April on my own. It was lovely, relaxing and safe. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

La Palma. It’s a small, not very touristy Canary Island. Not many people take children and it’s just beautiful.

helpfulperson · 25/05/2024 11:44

Maderia is normally a fairly steady 24 degrees all year round. Depends how hot you want it to sit around in.

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/05/2024 11:51

Would love to go to Morocco. Thanks for the recommendations of Agadir

Waferbiscuit · 25/05/2024 14:05

I went to Sicily (syracuse then taoramina) and can highly recommend. Beautiful. Lots to do or can lounge and eat great food.

Third week in October is half term for quite a lot of people so you might want to avoid places that advertise heavily as family friendly/make sure they have an adult only area.

I went to Palma in Mallorca last year in October and it was still warm enough to swim in the sea. Lovely town to mooch around in, and also easy enough to get out of town on local buses to places where you could swim and chill.

Puerto de Mogán in Gran Canaria is great if you just want a lazy beach holiday!

CaurnieBred · 28/05/2024 15:02

We went to Malta last October - it was lovely. I would feel quite safe there as a solo traveller too.

We went to Rhodes in October and the weather was lovely!

We stayed at atrium prestige which is perfect for a lazy lounge around the pool/ beach holiday. Food was great too.
