Why is nobody reviewing the B&B?

I booked an Air Bnb in the south of France back in January. It was a new listing with no reviews yet and hence I got a good price as there was a reduction for the first three bookings. I was nervous about this but the place looked great and the host was really reassuring and friendly (said she'd moved in with her boyfriend and decided to air bnb her flat). Always very responsive to messages about the place etc. It's in quite a desirable location. I kept an eye on it after booking and was relieved when the first review came in - 5 stars. However from then till now, although it looks like the place is booked up a lot, there have only been 3 reviews in total. All 5 stars and all sound genuine. Comment on the things that matter to me about the apartment and two of them also say the host was lovely. But why are there only 3 reviews in 5 months?! I am not sure if maybe this is just the host's friends. There are no bad reviews though. I'm just concerned. I've tried to find the place on Booking.com and it's not on there as far as I can see (I wondered if it was rented out elsewhere when it looks like it's booked up on Air BnB and the reviews were going somewhere else).

Many people just don’t write reviews of anything. Places they’ve stayed at, restaurants they’ve eaten in etc. I do, but I’ve got friends and family who’ve never written a review ever.

At least there are a few reviews for a new listing. I’ve booked a villa in the Summer and got the same discount as you did for a new property. Booked last year. So far there’s a total of 3 reviews for this villa, but they’re all positive and sound genuine. I can also see the villa was on other booking platforms.

It's still only May. The tourist season is only just beginning in the South of France, I wouldn't worry.

Very valid point about tourist season timing.

I rarely write reviews. One excellent place asked for one but after writing it I found I needed to make an account with the review site (why it didn't tell me before I don't know). But used the place four times a year for ten years.

Thank you that's all very reassuring! I feel like such a goody two shoes now as I always review and thought most people did too. But it's very reassuring that that's not really the norm as I couldn't work out why there were so few reviews by now.
