Short Haul November Honeymoon

Hi All,

I'm getting married on 1st November this year (our 10 year anniversary, but I digress) and we are looking to head off on a short break the week after our wedding. It will be 3-5 nights, 5 is the max due to childcare. Due to this, we don't want to spend too long travelling - probably 5/6 hours each way max. We'll be hopefully heading off on a longer family holiday with our little girl next year, but I'm keen to do something as a newly married couple. We're looking for some quality time as a couple, we like nice food and drink, would love some sun and ideally an all inclusive, sun lounger, minimum effort kind of break. We've looked at Turkey but there are so many hotels we're struggling to find one that stands out. We've also considered a city break but we did all the big ones (Paris, Rome, Barcelona etc) pre baby - does anyone have any recommendations please? If you did a winter mini-moon, what did you do?

What do you like doing? How about Egypt if you enjoy snorkeling, I've previously stayed in some lovely all inclusive places with lovely sun, pools, and beautiful snorkeling just off the hotel on a jetty or reef. Good boat trips etc. If you don't enjoy snorkeling then I probably wouldn't bother to make the trip to Egypt for a few days as I can't imagine you could be bothered with the faff of going to the pyramids etc.

Sofitel Winter Palace in Luxor, Egypt

What sort of holiday do you want? And what sort of budget?

Canaries might work - could do a luxury resort with spa / beach / pool

Marrakech would work for a warm city break - luxury hotel or riad

Thanks all! I’ve been to Egypt before and got food poisoning haha but we would be willing to give it another chance, I’ll look at that hotel recommendation. We’re definitely looking for a relax-eat-drink type holiday, as we won’t get the chance again for a long time with a 1 yr old
