Where is hot in October in Europe?

Hi

We are hoping to do a half term October holiday so about the 3rd week of October. Where will still be hot enough to sit around a pool at that time of year?

Lanzarote. 4 hour flight.

I'm Barcelona area. I was still in sandals and not wearing anything around my shoulders at night well into the middle of November last year.
To be honest, I only wore my winter coat for a week all winter, a light jacket the rest of the time.

The sea was amazing in October, we were still in it.

Corfu, Madeira, Algarve, Cyprus.

Crete is still good in October

I went to Barcelona last October and got drenched, on a week's holiday it rained torrentially on and off for 3-4 days

Greece and Turkey are still beautiful in October

thatdarncat · 19/05/2024 18:42

Balearics are still hot, not just as oppressive as in July. Best time to go IMHO.

Turkey is wonderful in October and the sea is about 30 degrees!

BoobyDazzler · 19/05/2024 19:49

I went to Ibiza last October and it was 30° every day but I’ve been in September a few times where it’s rained every day so not guaranteed.

Canaries. We've been to Lanzarote the last two October half terms and it was 26-28 degrees.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 19/05/2024 22:39

The most reliable weather will be in the canaries.
It will still be warm in Greece/Spain but you will be much more likely to get wet unsettled weather

minipie · 19/05/2024 23:18

We’ve had a lovely sunny half term in Cyprus.

I’d reckon that Cyprus, Turkey are 75-80% reliable weather wise. Canaries more like 90%. Greece/Spain less reliable than Cyprus and you could get lucky but I wouldn’t risk it.

Another option (not Europe but close) is Marrakech area.

Southern Italy, Naples Sorrento Amalfi will still be warm in mid October. The Canaries and Madeira will be warm too, I've been there around Christmas/New Year, and it was pleasantly warm sitting outside.
