We have the chance to go away for 3 nights in August with no kids!! Can anyone recommend a really lovely hotel (preferably with spa) that does fab food and is in the South/South West of England??

The Grove in Watford or Limewood in New Forrest.

Bovey Castle is beautiful

Bowood House in Wiltshire, nice spa with views across the estate. It also has a golf course and you can access the house and gardens during your stay.

Dorset House, Lyme Regis, Pig on the Beach, Studland. Chewton Glen or Lime Wood in Hampshire. Padstow Townhouse - in room spa but the best food in Cornwall. The Pig at Coombe and Lympstone Manor in Devon.

Any of The Pig hotels or Gara Rock

The Scarlet, you can also fly into Newquay, it's not far from the airport.

Also Harbour hotel (the one just outside Salcombe)
