Boutique-y hotel in Mendips

I’m looking for somewhere boutique-y to stay for two nights in Aug, just the two of us. Nice breakfast, easy drive to Wells/Gastonbury. Budget £600 total.

Ive stayed at all three and would recommend any of them. The second two our boutique-y pub hotels with great food and the newt is bigger (with spa) and completely beautiful.

ive also heard great things about number 1 Bruton (osip the restaurant is Michelin starred) and more mixed things about at the chapel.

The Newt has nice food, I've never stayed there. There is a couple of nice places I've stayed in Bath with the advantage you can walk to places. Not a cheap part of the world though, even our local premier inn is over £100 without breakfast. Not Mendips but on the coast, The Royal in Portishead is getting good reviews, just been refurbished, it's a pub with rooms and in budget

Thank you! The Newt is out of our price range unfortunately (mid-Aug) and the Litton doesn’t have availability…I shouldn’t have left it so late.

The others are contenders though, just need to decide which one.
