Cheapest way to transfer money to Italy for a deposit/payment

Sorry if this is a bit specific but am completely bamboozled by this - is it right that I have to suck it up and pay £20 on a 110Euro deposit for holiday accommodation - does anyone know a way to do it cheaper than this (my bank) if the recipient isnt on paypal?

Recipient doesn;t have to be on paypal - if they have an email address and paypal is available in their country you can transfer money to them and they then follow the instructions paypal send to them to transfer the money into their account. You are also able to send them the money in Euros. Easy.
