Dog friendly UK holiday ideas - end of Aug

It’s a significant wedding anniversary this year and I had planned on doing a roadtrip around western Scotland with DH, teen DD and DDog. However, the main thing I wanted to do in Scotland isn’t happening so I am not really inclined to go that far now.

Looking for ideas for a shorter trip, say 7-10 days, maybe with a base and plenty of dog friendly places to go/eat in the area (up to 90 mins away) to occupy us. Needs to be good value. (Not £3k for a week in a caravan in Cornwall.)

We live in South Wales. Have done West and North Wales. Would want to avoid Yorkshire.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Northumberland - most of the beaches are dog friendly year round, Kielder Forest park, we could take DB’s dog on a boat trip to the Farne Islands, some of the castles are dog friendly, Hadrian’s wall, Lindisfarne priory. So many dog friendly cafes and pubs too!

Good choice of dog friendly cottages for under £1k for a week - seen some nice ones for 700-800. Can recommend staying in Craster, Warkworth or Bamburgh.

Sounds great - not somewhere I would have thought of.

Unfortunate that we’d have to drive through Yorkshire to get there though. :-/

I’m not sure what the prices would be like, but we had a great holiday in the Lake District and found lots to do with DDog:
Grizedale Forest (I loved the sculptures, DCs enjoyed Go Ape and hiring bikes, we all loved the walks)
Windermere Lake Cruises
Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway
Brockhole on Windermere - adventure parks, boat hire, archery etc…
Beatrix Potter House (dogs only allowed in the garden, which is lovely)
Aira Force And Ullswater

I was also going to say Northumbria.

We had a gorgeous dog friendly house right across the green of Bamburgh Castle. Short walk to beach. fabulous house.

Some fab restaurants in Bamburgh-but def book well ahead.

Gorgeous to explore-Lindesfarne, Alnick, dunstanburgh etc.

We ordered a Morrison's delivery (I think) and it was fantastic.

So many pretty beaches and pubs and walks
