Passport delay

Sent off old passport with marriage certificate via post office a week ago today they still haven't received my documents
Husband been received he had to have his photo signed
I didn't mine was expired but still valid to change name
Anyone else been delayed

1 week doesn't count as a delay tbh

I mean about receiving my documents not passport sent back

They maybe just haven't been uploaded as being received yet. How did you send the documents?

Worth phoning up if it's been a week - turns out my DCs documents had been allocated to a different application and they have now posted the documents back to me (not yet received) without actually processing the passport application....

Post office did it I had to have new photo and marriage certificate sent thought they would of received it by now

How do you know your documents haven’t been received yet? If you’re going by what it says in the website ignore it. Mine went from “waiting from documents” straight to “passport sent” with nothing in between.

Yeah I been looking at website bit of a relief after you saying that thank you I try not to worry

I sent the old passports off on 16/4 and got a text confirming they had received them on 19/4.

"We've received your old passport. If we need more information we'll contact you."

So I think you are better checking, just to be sure.

Their website only shows documents as received once they actually start processing your application, so they probably have already got them. As a PP said, the process then usually moves very quickly.
