Hi all,

We plan to fly from the Highlands in Scotland to London for a stay at Port Lympne this summer.

Is one night there enough? Would 2 nights be too much? We plan to make it a four night trip, does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay around that area for the rest of the trip (DD’s are 16 & 11) or would having a couple of days in London be a good idea to keep them better entertained?

thanks very much in advance for any insights.

A bit of both? Cant help with accommodation sorry but I know the area as my husand is from Hythe so we went there quite alot before we moved, there's not a huge amount to do other than the small safari park and the coast of course. You could go to Folkestone and get the fast train into London for a day, or a slower one from Sandling. Weather should be lovely :)

Thank you Imisscoffee2021, that’s really helpful! The weather will definitely be a step up from the north of Scotland!

I hear you! I'm in Central Scotland and really missed the southern weather this winter 😅 Folkestone might be a good place to stay if you're driving down there? Or Hythe and taxi or bus to Port Lympne, depends what you're looking for, sea and restaurants, nice pubs etc aplenty in both.
