Stuck for ideas! Family of 5, 3 DCs 14 16 and 18. We're in agreement that sunny beach all inclusive resort not for us this year. Kids a bit bored with that now. Great at the time to do pool and unlimited ice cream but they've grown out it a bit. Just no idea where to go. 7 days off. Thinking twin city breaks but just not sure where or a nice resort where we could have one base but do day trips from. Any suggestions please?

Budget? Things you enjoy?

We just did the thing where we set a budget and one evening each member of the family did a powerpoint presentation with a holiday proposal - since your kids are older, that could be a fun activity!

Are you still happy with hot weather or would prefer cooler if you’re sightseeing? What sorts of activities would you want to do?

Some ideas:

Lisbon (could be combined with Porto)
Split plus an island (Hvar or Brac)
Dubrovnik and Kotor
Pula and Rovinj (or one with day trips to the other)
Trieste and Pula
Trieste and Venice (could stay on the Lido)
Some combination of Bilbao, Santander and San Sebastián
Vienna and Bratislava
Copenhagen and Malmo
Warsaw and Krakow
Belgium tour - Bruges, Ghent, Brussels
Amsterdam and Duinrell

If it were me I’d fly to copehagen then travel over the bridge to Sweden and a bit of a drive around.
Thats unlikely to be hot though.

Lake Garda. Fly into Venice and then drive up to the lake, very easy. Took ds last year and it was a good holiday.

Austrian alps? Couple of days in Salzburg and then a stay in one of the ski resorts where you can use the buses and summer lifts? We liked St Johann im Pongau.
