Hello
looking for other options for a Summer holiday, I already have Italy as one option but like to present a few to the family for a vote!
Thinking Hamburg looks interesting but don't know anyone who has been. Is it any good for teens/tweens? We quite like cool, edgy cities rather than traditionally beautiful places and thinking that Hamburg may fit with interesting things to do. Kids not that into museums but like shopping, quirky stuff, bowling, VR, etc. Also are there any more traditional summer holiday type places (beach or resort type) that could be tagged on?
Thanks!

We went to Hamburg but tbh I found the city itself very sorta industrial. We went the schwerin and lubeck on day trips which were lovely! Theres a good zoo in hamburg and some nice architecture. We went in Feb so maybe that influences my perception of the city.

Hamburg is a great city, it's a major city, you will find things to do for cool teens.
The zoo is great, you have the Speicherstadt - Docklands style warehouse district - with the Miniaturwunderland. Even for non train enthusiast, it is worth a visit.

You can easily go by train or a short drive to Lübeck for a day trip. The Baltic sea is near, look at Travemünde or Timmendorfer Strand or any of the town north of it.

You could also go to the North Sea, I haven't been in decades but the Ostfriesischen Inseln like Norderney are worth for a traditional sea side break. Or Sankt-Peter-Ordingen or Föhr. A bit further away than Travemünde though.
