Mauritius vs Caribbean

Looking at going for 7-10 nights of winter sun in early December.

We are looking at either Mauritius or the Caribbean. Probably Antigua.

Mauritius flights are longer and more expensive but both are overnight and minimal time difference. You seem to get a LOT more for your money too.

I do love the Caribbean though and have been many times.

Has anyone been to both?

I've been to both, I would go Mauritius if you haven't been before, it's a really lovely island, I think the food and service can be better than the Caribbean but it always depends where you are staying on both to do a direct comparison

Mauritious = no jetlag.

I've been to Mauritius and several Caribbean islands. I found much better quality of hotels, service and food in Mauritius if you are looking at AI/ package holidays.

Any yes to no jet lag going to Mauritius! Able to enjoy the holiday from the moment I got there rather than feel grim from jet lag and waking up at 3am 🕒

Depends what you want. Antigua has some interesting places to see. It has loads of beaches. Never done AI. The best hotels are similar in both. Money talks!

Mauritius is lovely. Watch out for the sun though, it's pretty much overhead in the middle of the day in December, a lot stronger than the Caribbean.

Been to both and prefer Mauritius though does depend exactly what you are comparing.
