Montenegro and Bosnia

I'm planning a holiday (me + 2 teens) to Montenegro and thinking of adding Sarajevo and Mostar to the start too.
We'd go at the start of the summer holidays (late July).
Travelling mostly by bus, but possibly hiring a car for getting in to the mountains - it seems like accessing hiking trails could be a pain without.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Kotor and Zabljak are definitely on the list.
Would you suggest national parks further southeast and also coast further south too?

We like outdoor activities, but also exploring cities and swimming/chilling.

We could carry on to Albania in theory too, or take the train to Belgrade.

I'm a bit overwhelmed so any recommendations would be gratefully received!

We loved Lake Skadar in Montenegro! Probably easier with a car, not sure on public transport. We did a trip with golden frog boat trips from Virpazar. There’s an amazing viewpoint at the river north of there too.

How was your holiday? We are going to Kotor and I just came across your thread looking for ideas. Did you like Montenegro? Where did you fly into/ from? We’re flying to/ from Dubrovnik and the queues at the border worries me a bit.
I would love to hike up Bobotov kuk, did you go to the Durmitor national park?
We will be staying in Kotor so it would just be a day trip.
Any recommendations at all would be appreciated!
